There has been lots of debate about Robin Williams and the issue of mental illness death today.
Sadly we can see that the stigma is very much alive, instead of celebrating his life and understanding his struggle with #mentalillness I’ve seen people say ‘it’s selfish’ ‘It’s weakness’ which is saddening and disappointing. NO mental illness is a sign that you have been strong for too long and more to do with an inner battle that most will never know about unless they have been through it. Please take the time to educate yourself, IGNORANCE IS NOT BLISS! Find it in yourself to be compassionate, imagine if we each showed it to one person it would change alot and save lives.
1 in 4 people will go though a mental illness so the experience of it is never far away from anyone. Suicide is a loss of hope and despair.
If you know someone who is depressed or feeling suicidal, be there for them care, show them support make them feel important. They are not feeling sorry for themselves, they are not being dramatic all this could save them from suicide.
If you are feeling suicidal please don’t kill yourself, you may not feel it today but the world does needs you! There is a better future ahead even if you can’t see it yet there is a purpose for your life, hold on. Help is available in so many places don’t give up hope

RIP #Robinwilliams
