I met someone today and we got talking about mental illness and she said: ‘my mental illness, you know it’s a weakness isn’t it?’
‘I replied no, it makes you feel weak but, the amount of strength that it takes to get up everyday and try, even when it’s the last thing you feel like doing takes everything, it takes so much strength when your mind is battling against you, telling you can’t and not too.

You don’t realise how strong you really are, don’t forget to give yourself credit each day when you get up each day again and try even in small ways.
It makes all the difference and you don’t realise it, but when you do, you are fighting back.
Mental illness try’s to trick you and win by convincing you that you are a weak person, but the truth is that you are stronger than you know.’
Thought I’d share because mental illness is far from a weakness and we don’t give ourselves enough credit for the things that we overcome when times are against us.
